He began his career as an Assistant State Attorney, handling both criminal and civil cases, before founding his own law practice specializing in real estate, personal injury, and family law. A committed community advocate, Kertch has also championed Haitian migrant rights and has been a trusted leader in Miramar for nearly 30 years.

He carried with him values of hard work and integrity taught by his family. He excelled academically, completing high school at 16. By 20, he had earned a Bachelor’s Degree in French Literature and Criminal Justice. His passion for law soon followed.
At just 23, Kertch achieved his Juris Doctorate and was admitted to the Florida Bar. This marked the beginning of a distinguished legal career. As an Assistant State Attorney, he handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to severe felonies. He became a voice for many in need. Later, he founded his own law practice, continuing his fight for justice. He represents property owners, medical providers, and individuals.
Kertch’s dedication extends beyond the courtroom. As a community advocate, he champions the rights of Haitian migrants. He co-founded the Haitian American Professionals Coalition and works to improve conditions for Haitians in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. His passion for justice led him to offer legal aid to Haitian migrants in Texas in 2021. This showcases his deep commitment to serving those in need.
For over 28 years, Kertch has called Miramar home. He is a proud husband and father of four daughters. Deeply invested in the city’s future, he now aims to bring positive change to Miramar.
